The CPM on Monday said that the Central Ministers are patronizing the Maoists in West Bengal. The Polit Bureau member of the CPI-M, Sita Ram Yechury alleged that the Centre’s stand on Maoists were contradictory. “At one hand the Prime Minister is describing the Maoist threat as most dangerous while his cabinet colleagues are patronizing and protecting these elements,” said the party.
Maoists had launched fresh attacks on CPI-M cadres recently and the party is alleging central government for this. Yechury said there was a pattern of violence being unleashed now by targeting our offices our comrades and supporters. Maoists had attacked CPI-M offices in West Midnapore district on Monday.
"Unfortunately, this violence is being patronised in Bengal by parties who are in the ruling UPA coalition and the Central government today," Yechury said without directly referring to the Trinamool Congress.
