Rahman to compose for Hollywood comedy ‘Couple’s Retreat’

After getting huge success in bollywood and south Indian film industry, Oscar winning musician A R Rahnam is set to compose music for his first full fledged Hollywood project ‘ Couple’s Retreat’. Rahman is determined to not to create anything similar to Slumdog Millionaire tunes. He is also stressed that while there would not be any Indian sounds in this film, but there would be a touch of Indianess.

There had been numerous brainstorming sessions for the music of this film and the music of Slumdog Millionaire kept cropping up repeatedly. But Rahman gently and firmly steered the music away from the expected.

“There is no point in doing something I have already done. I have reached a stage where I have to do new things. There are so many avenues so be explored. So, ‘Couple’s Retreat’ will be their kind of music with my touch, done in my way” said Rahman.

Directed by Peter Billingsley, the comedy revolves around four couples who settle into a tropical-island resort for a vacation. Rahman, who won two Oscars for ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ said he would now make music to suit an American romantic comedy.
